Arlington, TX September 11, 2003 Smith System, the leader in professional driver training, today announced that it has become certified as an Authorized Provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).

I
ACET is the internationally recognized continuing education accreditation and certification agency that sets the criteria, guidelines, and universal standards for awarding continuing education units (CEUs).  CEUs are used for maintenance of a professional certification or for professional advancement in organizations.

To receive certification, Smith System completed an extensive application, was reviewed by an IACET site visitor, and successfully demonstrated the ability to adhere to all IACET criteria and guidelines.  Smith System is now certified to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for all current training programs that meet the IACET criteria as well as any created during the time of certification, for the next five years.

“Smith System is dedicated to providing the highest quality standards in continuing education and training.  We appreciate receiving this recognition from IACET,” said Jim Smith, vice president of training for Smith System.  “Offering our customers the IACET CEU’s they need to maintain or gain professional accreditation supports our company’s goal of continuing to add value to our training programs.”

Smith System has agreed to comply with the IACET criteria and standards, and will use the IACET name and logo on course promotional materials to designate those courses meeting IACET’s criteria.

About IACET
IACET founded the Continuing Education Unit (CEU) in 1968. Since then, IACET has set and held high standards for the providers of continuing education. IACET certification is the only guarantee that third parties have to ensure quality continuing education. Private companies, one of the largest investors in workplace training and continuing education, should be especially aware of the value of IACET certification.
